JUNE 12: PRESIDENT BUHARI SPEECH ON POST COVID-19 NIGERIA.

President Buhari, on Friday during his nationwide broadcast , confirmed that his administration has already commenced the employment process for 774,000 youths across all local governments in the country. "As part of the strategy to create jobs in reducing the effect of COVID-19 on our youths, I directed the employment of 774, 000 Nigerians. These youths will be engaged in Special Public Works Programme aimed at cushioning the effects of economic downturn".l said Mr President.
 further speaking, the added that each of the 774 local government areas in Nigeria will be allotted 1,000 slots. I am pleased to report that this programme has commenced.

Recall that about two weeks ago, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, reiterated that the Special Public Works Programme, SPWP, was designed for unskilled rural workers and not graduates.

Furthermore, while revealing how the recruits would be picked, the Minister however disclosed that, 10 per cent of the federal government’s 774,000 temporary employment slots, will be allotted to political office holders in Nigeria.

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT RECRUITMENT THROUGH NALDA.

The Federal government of Nigeria is recruiting young ajd vibrant Nigerians into NALDA. NALDA is a volunteer program which provides opportunities for eligible young Nigerians to contribute to their volunteer actions. Successful applicants are to support the work NALDA in their pilot projects.
The volunteer program which last for 6months will tactically organize broad-based volunteer services for eligible Nigerians to meet the targets of the three main pilot projects of NALDA to guarantee food and nutrition security in Nigeria.
Also, the BUHARI YOUNG FARMERS NERWORK is another network of the initiative to employ 2000 young Nigerians in each of the 774 local governments in Nigeria. The pilot project is to kick off with a 100 young Nigerians from each local government. The target of the program is to encourage young Nigerian graduates into commercial farming with the aim of catching them young and encourage digital agriculture.
